One large French retail group wanted to acquire a lasting competitive advantage using a new innovative bank card. With the help of Alténor, the group designed a new product bringing together features such as loyalty, direct debit, universal access and credit facilities.

From the initial idea to the launch, Alténor helped in the product design, the business planning, negotiation of key partnerships. The retail group now has a landmark product, central to its strategic positioning.


To increase turnover and market presence, the financial services subsidiary of a hypermarket group put together a « financial corner » concept using dedicated personnel located on the retail sites.

Alténor consulting provided business consulting support and operational support during the launch period so that our client could pilot the concept and organise a full deployment in the retail network.



A new entrant wanted to launch an innovative type of ATM in France. Alténor Consulting studied the market feasibility and the economic drivers for this client.
Alténor also studied the adaptation to French interchange standards and compatibility with the GIE Cartes Bancaires business rules. Alténor proposed some technology partners and telecom providers to implement the launch.


A retail bank wanted to propose an Internet based electronic certificate for its business clients.
The view was to take a lead position in third party certification. Alténor designed the product, found a technology adapted it to the bank’s requirement and managed the project to implementation.
Several large companies now use the product to certify and send their VAT returns via Internet.

Alténor is currently providing project support to deploy a range of services using the same technology offering throughout the bank’s B2B activities.
